Wrongful Death

Any death caused by the negligence or wrongful intention of another is referred to as Wrongful Death. Wrongful death cases arise in all types of circumstances, including vehicle crashes, police shootings, prison neglect, medical malpractice, dangerous or defective products, workplace and job-related mishaps, construction site accidents, plane/helicopter crashes, and defective premises. People and companies can be liable for the wrongful death of an individual. A wrongful death lawsuit is brought to vindicate the person who was killed and to recover for the surviving family members or others who depended upon the deceased for financial or emotional support, as well as medical expenses, funeral expenses, and any other consequential damages (such as grief counseling or therapy).

Many states also allow a companion claim called a “survival action,” which is brought directly on behalf of the decedent, usually for claims such as pre-death conscious pain and suffering, pre-death lost earnings, and the like.

Our experienced lawyers at GLG have successfully represented numerous husbands, wives, sons, daughters, and siblings of those killed in various ways, including car, bus, motorcycle, moped, scooter, and pedestrian accidents, prison deaths, police shootings, medical errors, product failures, and suicides.
